Dependable Reliable and Functional1950 Ford Fire Department Step Van Step Vans to the RescueAs the post-WWII economy boomed housing construction in both the cities and suburbs provided unique challenges for fire departments across America. The step vans provided interior room for personnel equipment and even emergency medical care.Bonus Built and Ford ToughWhen Ford redesigned their truck line in the late 1940s Bonus Built was their ad slogan indicating that these trucks were loaded with extras. 1950 Ford® Custom Deluxe Convertible - 1:18 Scale
America’s Most Popular Convertible1950 Ford® Custom Deluxe Convertible50 Ways BetterFord’s major ad campaign in 1950 stressed 50 ways the car was improved over 1949. But after major restyling for the previous year almost all of these improvements were inside the car such as better brakes push-button door latches and a tighter and better sealed body. Sales were up slightly from 1949 as the industry benefiting from consumer concerns about shortages with Korea on the horizon set a new sales record. The Ford brand was #2 toChevrolet but the total Ford Motor Company had 24% market share its best in almost 20 years. One area Ford was unquestionably superior was the convertible. They sold over 50000 Custom Deluxe Convertibles at $1948 ($1 less than 1949) 20000 more than Chevrolet the nearest competitor.Precision Engineered from Manufacturers SpecificationsThis 1:18 scale precision die cast replica was tooled from exact Ford specifications. The front grille features the 8 showing it has a V-8 engine. The steering wheel turns and there is independent spring suspension. The hood opens showing the V-8 engine. 1950 Lincoln Cosmopolitan Presidential Car - 1:24 Scale
"The First Car of the Land1950 Lincoln Cosmopolitan Presidential CarUsed by Three PresidentsAlthough mainly a Chrysler man President Harry Truman commissioned a fleet of 19 Lincoln Cosmopolitans for government use in 1949 and 1950. Lincoln did not make a limousine at that time so the 4-door sedan with its old-fashioned suicide rear doors was adapted into a 7-passenger Presidential Car. President Eisenhower used it for his first Inauguration and President Kennedy used it for his in 1961.Bubble Top for Visibility Not ProtectionWhen President Eisenhower added the bubble top in 1954 it was strictly to increase his visibility during inclement weather. Protection against assassins was not a consideration. 1950 Studebaker Champion Deluxe - 1:18 Scale Model
1950 Studebaker Champion Deluxe Studebakers Best Year Ever The critics and comedians had a field day making jokes about the new design of the 1950 Studebaker. With its bullet-nose front vertical fender-mounted taillights and wrap-around rear window this Raymond Loewy/Virgil Exner design did look like its front and rear ends may have been switched. But the public knew which way to go. 1950 was Studebakers best sales year ever with over 320000 cars sold. For the first time their slogan that Its 4 cars not 3 that lead the lowest price field proved true.Precision Engineered to Original Studebaker Specifications This 1:18 scale precision die cast replica of the 1950 Studebaker Champion Deluxe sedan is officially licensed with authentic logos insignias and hood ornament. With its P-36 Lightning jet plane inspired design and features such as opening doors hood and trunk folding front seats and removable spare all topped off by the factory baked enamel Aero Blue finish it looks as good now as it did to the 45280 customers who paid $1565 for one over 50 years ago.Model Features

Corgi 1950's Chicago Surface Lines - PCC Streetcar - 1:50 Scale
"PCC StreetcarsCorgi Limited Edition CloseoutChicago Surface LinesPresidents Committee Standardizes StreetcarsTalk about frustrating. Imagine being a manufacturer of streetcars when every city had their own specifications. In 1929 under the leadership of Dr. Thomas Conway the manufacturers formed a Presidents Conference Committee to standardize streetcars. By 1936 the first of these Presidents Conference Committee (PCC) streetcars were available and standardization was on its way. Over the years 5000 of these were built 3966 by the St. Louis Car Company who provided these early 1950’s versions for Chicago and Detroit. These all-electric single-ended (a few cities like San Francisco used double-ended) streetcars were quieter and more economical than their predecessors. They also had better motors controls and braking. Carbon-Copy Replicas of the Originals No one makes highly detailed die cast replicas like Corgi. With their world-renowned attention to detail these PCC streetcars are a joy to see and hold. They each have 99 separate windows electric wire guides detailed interiors with seats poles and drivers controls rolling and turning wheel assemblies plus authentic factory baked-enamel finishes (Green Hornet for Chicago and Cream and Crimson for Detroit). But this is a true Limited Edition closeout so ACT NOW! because once gone they cannot be reproduced.Model Features
