Model Cars:

A model car is a miniature size, or scaled version, of an actual automobile. The history of model cars date back to the early 1900's. Model cars were initially manufactured as toys for the kids of very rich parents and today it has become one of the greatest collectible items for enthusiasts. Bing, Carette, Marklin already produced tinplate model cars.
1917 > est. European toy companies continue the manufacturing of tinplate model cars.
1920 > Citroen produced the renowned 1/8th and 1/11th scaled promotional model cars.
1920 > Tootsietoys produced the diecast model cars.
1930 Companies build model cars on 1/43rd scale. (Model railways's 0 gauge scale).
1936 In Germany, Schuco produced tinplate model cars.
1948 > Matchbox a British toy manufacturer gets involved.
1956 Corgi, another British toy manufacturer gets involved.
1960 >

Manufacturers from Europe and Germany take control of the 1/43rd diecast market.

Model cars become more detailed and honed to perfection.

1970 Less detailed model cars where produced to cut production costs mostly due the the great recession of the 70's
1980 - 1990 > Model cars revived. More detail and quality where brought into model cars then ever before. Build close to the original and made available on large scale. Model cars became very popular since then.
